Marks & Spencer - list of store closures
Earlier this week Marks & Spencer announced it will be closing 27 stores after posting a 7.1% sales drop, meaning over 1,200 jobs will be lost.
The firm said 25 Simply Food stores are to close in a bid to reduce operating costs. They are based at:
• Grafton Centre, Cambridge
• Bracknell
• Torquay
• Imperial Wharf
• Harbourside Bristol
• Newtownards
• Trowbridge
• Letchworth
• Huntingdon
• Marlborough
• Braintree
• Caversham
• Balham
• Palmers Green
• Colmore Row
• Evesham
• Tewkesbury
• Whitley Bay
• Newcastle-under-Lyme
• Biggin Hill
• Sudbury
• Ripon
• Melton Mowbray
• Honiton
• Market Harborough
Additionally, two main chain stores will also close. They are:
• Valley Park Croydon
• Woking
Following M&S’s sales announcement, executive chairman Sir Stuart Rose said he will not be taking a bonus or a pay rise this year.
