Zara withdraws swastika motif handbags

According to the BBC, high street fashion chain Zara have withdrawn a bag from sale after a customer complained that the bag contained the design of a swastika.

The store said that the design had not been visible when the item was picked for selection.

A customer who returned the bag to the shop when she noticed the symbol said staff had been “shocked” to see it.

The swastika was adopted by the Nazi party as their universal image, but in its original form is a religious symbol from East Asia.
