Sainsbury’s posts strong growth plans
Friday, November 12th, 2010Sainsbury’s has reported strong sales growth with profit before tax up 36.3% to £466m, and total sales (inc VAT) up 7% to £11,944m in its interim results for the 28 weeks to 2 October 2010.
Like-for-like sales (inc VAT, ex fuel) are also up 2%, with total sales (inc VAT, ex fuel) up 4.8%.

Londis opens store in London’s Canary Wharf
Friday, November 12th, 2010Londis has a new store opening in Marsh Wall, Canary Wharf, this week and the symbol group is partnering with a new retailer, Kamruz Zaman, on the development.

Supermarkets steal chunk of children’s clothing market
Friday, February 19th, 2010New research from Mintel shows that more and more consumers are buying children’s clothing alongside their weekly grocery shopping.
The results show, that for the first time, value sales from supermarkets make up the biggest proportion of spend for consumers, beating all other outlets with 29% share of the childrenswear market.
